What should be our reasoning behind building in environment never touched by human before and with a great importance for local fauna? We believe that by giving access to nature, in the most respectful way possible, we give the chance to fall in love with it and therefore rise awareness about the importance of protecting it. Coming back to our childhood memories we remember the time we spend climbing trees, watching birds and the feel of adventure that it gave us. The views, the smells and the sounds of nature that we all can so easily recall from our childhood years were the inspiration for our project. Designing our observation cabins, we wanted to bring back that feeling and focus specifically on our senses in order to give new possibilities to engage with nature. Because of the modular character of our design, we were able to propose cabins where the sense of hearing is principal and where visitors are able to hear sounds of nature that they may not focus on before, thanks to minimizing the influence of the sense of sight by adding just enough light to manoeuvre and special openings to bring birdsongs and sounds of water in. In the cabin where the sense of smell is the most important one, we proposed local moss, ferns and other plants inside the cabin as well as openings that will bring the distinctive smell of wetlands in. Every cabin has a specific shape that was dictated by the central field of vision, for most people it covers an angle of 60°. Within this angle, both eyes observe an object simultaneously, it is the most natural and easy position to observe nature and with that in mind the shape of the cabins was created.
